Meer Nolan/Superman info

Er wordt al wat meer duidelijk over Christopher Nolan's betrokkenheid bij de nieuwe Superman film. Voor alle haters, een Batman/Superman combo zit er vooralsnog niet in.

Geoff Boucher van de LA Times Hero Complex had dus een gesprek met Nolan en daarin vertelde Nolan onder andere dat hij dus met David Goyer heeft gepraat over welke richting hij op wilde met de film.

He basically told me, 'I have this thought about how you would approach Superman. I immediately got it, loved it and thought: That is a way of approaching the story I've never seen before that makes it incredibly exciting. I wanted to get Emma and I involved in shepherding the project right away and getting it to the studio and getting it going in an exciting way.

De bedoeling is dus dat Nolan optreed als producer voor een regisseur (die er nog niet is) op dezelfde manier als Peter Jackson dat deed bij District 9 van Neill Blomkamp. We hoeven ook niet te verwachten dat Batman en Superman elkaar ooit zullen ontmoeten in bijvoorbeeld een Justice League film.

Each serves to the internal logic of the story. They have nothing to do with each other.

Als afsluiter wilde Nolan nog steeds niet vertellen wat nu de bedoeling is met de derde Batman film, maar we weten nu in elk geval zaker dat hij weer van de partij is.

Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story, and in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story. We have a great ensemble, that's one of the attractions of doing another film, since we've been having a great time for years.
